EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTER

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Early Childhood Center's goal is to provide a safe, warm, and pleasant atmosphere in which to introduce children to the learning experience. Activities will be directed to develop cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth. Christian attitudes and values will be an integral part of the environment. At Sacred Heart of Jesus School we recognize educational research which demonstrates that play is a child's main source of learning, and in keeping with that research, we have a play-based curriculum.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Early Childhood Program provides a classroom environment conducive to learning. Our learning centers include many different materials that provide a variety of opportunities to refine sensory perception, develop personal hygiene, stimulate creative thinking and a love for reading and create enriching language experiences.

Daily activities include religion, art, music and rhythms, language and listening development experience, large and small motor activities, science investigations and games.

THREE-YEAR-OLD PROGRAM

The Three-Year-Old Program is designed to provide the young child with opportunities for new experiences. Socialization skills, constructive play, activities to further enhance language development and child-centered activities are emphasized. Children are encouraged, but not required to participate in all of these activities. The teacher respects and guides each individual child in his or her development. Child must be toilet trained.  Children should be 3-years old by Dec 1st.

FOUR-YEAR-OLD PROGRAM

The four-year-old child learns about the world through physical interaction with objects and people. The curriculum provides stimulating activities that meet the individual needs of each child. The teacher guides the children in their social, emotional and intellectual development, helping them feel successful as they begin their school-life experiences.  Children should be 4-years old by Dec 1st.
